Jenna's 1st Day of Preschool

I had the best of intentions of getting back into blogging and sharing the pictures from Jenna's first day of Preschool yesterday, but I guess they'll have to come a day late.  :)

We decided to sign Jenna up for Preschool at the local Christian school in town.  Some friends of ours at church have sent their kids to preschool there and all had great experiences.  So we thought we'd give it a try!  We're still unsure as to what schooling we'll choose come next year when Jenna's ready for Kindergarten, but for the time being we're going this route.

She has been so excited to finally go to school.  We really see this being a good experience for her, especially since she's such a social butterfly.

And she was off to go play!  The boy in the orange shirt is a friend of hers from church.  We're glad that they're in the class together.

Another friend of ours had the tradition of taking the younger siblings to get donuts during the first day (since class was only 1 hour that day).  So Grant and I ate a donut and then brought one home for Drew and Jenna.  Obviously Grant chose a "spiderman" donut!  ;)

The store we went to still has mechanical horse rides for one cent!  So Grant got to ride the horse before we left.

Jenna had a great first day of school and already can't wait to go back!  It sounds like it will be a lot of fun, for her and for us as well.  They take three field trips, which parents are encouraged to attend (yay!), plus there are three class parties - Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day, and a Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Grandparent's Day.  Jenna will also be assigned a letter of the alphabet and get to take home the Sharing Bag to fill with items that begin with that letter.  Then she gets to share what items she brought in.  I know she will love that! 

I was really hesitant about whether to put her in preschool this year or just continue teaching her at home, especially since preschool is not a requirement.  However, I think God knew my time would be stretched quite a bit this year with all of Hannah's appointments and therapies.  Isn't it so comforting seeing God's hand in all this and knowing that He's got it all under control?!  :)
