Easter

These pictures are sort of out of order, but that's alright. Here are some pictures from Easter day and when we dyed eggs.

All dressed up from church. Jenna's wearing her "wenning" (wedding) dress because that's the dress she wore to Brian and Natalie's wedding. So it's now been dubbed the wedding dress.

Jenna digging in to her easter basket from Mommy and Daddy. Yep, I made the mistake of getting a princess liquid chapstick, which is what she's trying out in the picture. About 5 seconds after the picture was taken, she dropped the stick on her new shorts and there is now a "grease" stain that I'm having a hard time getting out. So the chapstick is up high in a safe place for a later time. (I had visions of the pink chapstick stain all over the carpet and couches. Not that she'd do it on purpose - she's just a typical 2-year old and not always thinking about what might happen if she...(fill in the blank). :)

Aunt Kelley and Uncle Brian hid Jenna's basket for her to find. Found it - and she also found a few treats inside, hence the FULL cheeks. :)

Jenna digging into her Easter basket from Aunt Kelley and Uncle Brian over at my parent's house. We had taken her wedding dress off because we were eating lunch and I didn't want it getting dirty. She got some pretty bracelets and bubbles from them!

We had an indoor Easter egg hunt for Jenna because it was still very wet outside from all the rain we've been getting. Grant was curious...

But we did have to try out the bubbles. She loved chasing after them!

Then she and Daddy went to the pond behind my parent's house to feed the ducks and fish.

Aunt Kelley and Uncle Brian also got Grant a duckie stuffed animal, which he liked playing with.

And digging into another Easter basket from Paw-Paw and Maw-Maw. She got some more bubbles from them, a Sing-a-ma-jig (which Grant really loves) and the best part (for her)...FRUIT SNACKS! ;) Haha - she loves her fruit snacks!

The day before Easter we decided to dye eggs. This was her first time dying eggs and she had just woken up from a nap, so she was still a big groggy, but she did a good job and seemed to enjoy it. We started out with 6 eggs and ended up with 4 - not too bad, only 2 got broken.

I had bought a cheap egg dying kit and there were some "shrinky dink" covers in it, so that's why we have a hair dryer out.

Here's what Grant was doing while we were dying eggs - playing near the stairs. He's not crawling yet, but he's starting to try to pull himself up.

San Diego Trip Part 3

These first 5 pictures are ones Cathy took. I just had to share them because they're so cute!

I just LOVE this picture of Jenna in my high heels.

What a great aunt! Cathy was a HUGE help to me over the weekend, especially the day of the wedding since Drew was away most of the day.

I do believe Jenna got her love of sugar from her Mommy. :)

And of course some cute pics of Aunt Cathy and Uncle Chris with the kids.

Now I'll continue from our time at the beach to the end of our trip...

It was a windy day, but even so it's almost a guarantee I'm going to have my eyes closed in pictures. I think it's a curse. :) Haha!

"B" came over to our hotel Sunday night to visit a little longer. Jenna LOVED having her there and enjoyed story time with her.

On Monday we went to Point Loma near the naval base. We were told there were some more tidepools there and it just so happened to be National Park week (or something like that) so there was no entrance fee that entire week. Yay - perfect timing!

Once again, sweet Grant was asleep in Daddy's arms for our tidepool adventures.

Although we didn't see much in the tidepools, the view was beautiful! We enjoyed just watching and listening to the waves.

Drew took Jenna down to a lower rock to watch the waves crash against the rocks. The water just barely crept over the rock where they were standing and Jenna LOVED it! She was giggling the entire time!

Of course we also enjoyed time at the hotel pool on Monday. Jenna just loves the hot tubs.

Daddy and Jenna built a sand castle

Tuesday morning on our flight home...little did we realize what was in store ahead of us. :) After sitting on the tarmac for about 45 minutes, they had everyone deboard the plane because of mechanical issues. After waiting 4 1/2 hours, we were finally able to reboard the plane for Chicago.

Luckily during our wait, Jenna fell asleep on Drew's shoulder and we were able to get her on the plane and in a seat without her waking up. Also, it was a blessing in disguise waiting that long because the completely booked flight was now practically empty, since most everyone else were able to catch an earlier flight on another plane. So Jenna was able to have all 3 seats to herself to sprawl out. It was great! She even slept another 2 1/2 hours on the flight (after already being asleep for 1 1/2 hours before we boarded!) She must have been exhausted from a fun and busy weekend!

So when we finally arrived in Chicago, our next flight wasn't supposed to leave for another 4 hours, however we found out that that flight was cancelled due to weather. While Drew was getting our flight rescheduled for the following morning and getting us hotel and food vouchers (which took about 2 hours because of the LONG lines), the kids and I were playing in their child's play area. I think it should be mandatory for ALL airports to have these! It was great for Jenna to run off some energy!

Here the kids are sitting on the bed in our hotel room in Chicago. The airlines would not let us get our luggage that we had checked, so Drew went out to get more diapers and formula because I didn't pack enough for 2 days (especially since we were supposed to be home by noon that day). Thankfully I had an extra pair of clothes for both the kids in my carry-on luggage, so they at least had a change of clothes. Drew and I, on the other hand, went without contact solution/case, toothbrush/paste, makeup (for me, not drew), and a change of clothes. And to add to it, Grant thought it would be fun to wake up and cry every 1-2 hours and since we were all in the same room, I jumped up to get him so Jenna wouldn't wake up. Let me just say, I couldn't wait to get home, but at the same time, it was a fun adventure! :)

Our flight from Chicago to Dayton went very well - no delays and Jenna actually slept through the entire flight, which only lasted about 1/2 hour. However, we discovered upon arrival that our checked luggage did not arrive in Dayton. They did end up delivering it later that day around 6pm. It was such a relief when we got the luggage. I just didn't feel like things were "done" until I had the bags and could finally unpack, start the laundry, and get a shower!! :)

Even with the flying fiasco, the trip was WELL WORTH it! It was soooo nice seeing family, being there for Brian and Natalie's wedding, and having a fun family vacation. I'd do it all over again!
