| One of our significant challenges with Hannah is grocery shopping. She's outgrown her infant carrier, so I can't just plop her in her carrier in the grocery cart like I could early on and she's not able to sit in the front of the cart. So I've experimented and tried one idea after another to see if anything might work. The front carrier was a fail. She was either slumped forward or to the side the entire time, which was uncomfortable for her and difficult for me. On to the next idea... |

| Hannah's therapist found this wrap in a magazine and thought it might work for the grocery cart...but, it still doesn't provide enough support. It definitely helps stabilize her upper torso, but she needs more support up the rest of her back and head. This pose of hers (with her arms up and pulled close to her body) is her "I'm very uncomfortable and unstable and nervous." Also, the tape on her wrists/arms is a stretchy material that was used to help with wrist rotation as well as pulling her thumb out so she couldn't tuck it into her fists. |

She does alright in the bike carrier, but, as you probably guessed, this also does not provide the right kind of support for her and she tends to sink and slump to the side. Sometimes we'll have Grant sit in there with her so that she has someone to lay against. Even so, she seems to really enjoy the bike rides. |
