San Diego Trip Part 1

Two and a half weeks ago we flew out to San Diego for Brian and Natalie's wedding. We came out early and stayed a few days later so that we could make a family vacation out of it. We have A TON of pictures from this trip, so I'll have to do 3 different posts to include a portion of them. If you want to see even more pics, I've posted them on my facebook account.

Jenna watching the airplanes while waiting to board (at the Dayton airport)

Grant contently playing at the airport

On the plane and ready to go. We're headed for D.C., so this is just a quick 45 minute flight.

At the D.C. airport waiting for our flight to San Diego. We had a long layover so we kept Jenna busy by walking through the airport. These payphones kept her busy too. She loved "talking" to Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw.

On the LONG flight from D.C. to San Diego - what was supposed to be a 5 hr and 15 min flight turned into a 6 1/2 hr. flight after we were stuck on the runway for over an hour! Ugh...not ideal with two young kids, but they did well.

They both fell asleep as our plane was on the runway before we learned of the delay. They slept about two hours, which was great.

One of my surprises for Jenna to hopefully keep her occupied on the plane - a new Cinderella doll. "B" had gotten her the Ariel doll about a month ago, so we thought she'd enjoy another one.

She did enjoy playing with Ariel and Cinderella. Here she's showing them the view from the plane.

Another "trick" to keep her occupied was a pack of stickers. She stayed busy sticking them to the wall in front of us (thankfully they came off really easily!).

Grant did great too and played for a while on the floor.

We finally made it to San Diego! Here we're aboard the bus taking us to our Hertz car rental.

One of the first things Jenna wanted to do the next day was go SWIMMING!! She's been looking forward to this for a while.

Both kids ready to go

Jenna became our "hot tub snob" on this time. She didn't really want to play in the regular pool once she discovered the joys of the hot tub - haha!

At the beach! This was another thing Jenna kept asking to do leading up to our trip. She LOVED it!

Then we went to La Jolla coast where there were tidepools. We all enjoyed seeing what we could discover in the tidepools. Jenna even became adventurous and was climbing the rocks on her own.

Grant was wiped out and stayed asleep the entire time.

Sure remind me of Borton adventures back in CA - Drew and Kristin, you're just carrying on the tradition. Loved the pictures, and the fun. Now, I know the trip was far from fun at times - like, taking two days to get home - but, to look back and remember the great times! Love ya'll - love the pictures!
